Manu Amici is proud to support Handzania, a hand-surgery outreach nonprofit in Tanzania founded by our own club member, Dr. Andre Ivy. After completing an International Orthopedic Fellowship in Moshi, Tanzania, Dr. Ivy saw first-hand how few resources existed for patients with severe hand and upper-extremity injuries and congenital deformities — and started Handzania to help close that gap.
About Handzania
Handzania’s mission is simple: teach hand surgery. The organization partners with local surgeons and hospital staff in Tanzania to provide upper-extremity surgical care and, just as importantly, to train local providers so that skills and capacity stay in the community long after any single trip ends. Handzania is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations are tax-deductible.
As Dr. Ivy puts it, echoing the organization’s guiding philosophy — “one cannot move a mountain alone.” Handzania’s work depends on volunteers, donors, and partners who share that goal of improving lives through service, teaching, and outreach.
